The Woodward ProTech-GII Model 8237-1369 is an advanced overspeed detection and protection device designed to safeguard various turbine types, including hydro, steam, and gas turbines. As part of the ProTech-GII series, it accurately monitors turbine speed and can initiate an automatic shutdown during over-acceleration. Featuring a speed readout range of 4-20 mA and Modbus communication for easy integration, it uses MPU (Magnetic Pickup Unit) detection and routine self-tests to maintain reliable performance. Additionally, the model 8237-1369 is equipped with a sulfur-resistant conformal coating, offering robust protection against H₂S and SO₂ gas exposure.
